What is color doppler?

Color Doppler is a non-invasive ultrasound examination that shows blood flow through veins and arteries. It helps detect narrowing, blockages, or other cardiovascular disorders.

Why is color doppler needed?

This examination is recommended for symptoms such as pain in the legs, swelling, cramps, or suspicion of varicose veins, thrombosis, or arterial disease. Early detection can prevent more serious complications.

How to prepare?

The examination does not require special preparation. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and avoid applying creams to the legs before arrival. The examination is painless and takes about 20 minutes.

What does the examination look like?

The patient lies on their back while the doctor moves the ultrasound probe over the legs. Blood flow is shown in color on the screen, allowing precise monitoring of the condition of the blood vessels.

Interpretation of results

The findings provide insight into the presence of varicose veins, blood clots, or narrowing. Based on the results, therapy or further diagnostic measures are determined.
