MSCT (CT) urography

MSCT (CT) urography (CT urotract) is a modern radiological method used to provide a detailed view of the kidneys, ureters, and urinary bladder. This method combines computerized tomography imaging and the administration of contrast medium, clearly showing the urinary tract and its function.

Who is the examination intended for?

CT urography is recommended for patients who have:

• blood in the urine (hematuria)

Thanks to its high sensitivity, MSCT urography often detects changes that other methods cannot show clearly enough.

What does the examination look like?

Before imaging, a contrast medium is administered intravenously to enable clear visualization of the urinary system. During the examination, the patient lies on their back while the CT device captures thin-slice cross-sections through the abdominal and pelvic cavity.

The examination is completely painless.

How long does the examination take?

The entire procedure takes on average 20 to 30 minutes, including preparation, contrast administration, and imaging. After the examination, the patient can continue their usual activities unless the doctor recommends otherwise.
