Injection Therapies in Orthopedics
Injection therapies in orthopedics – Drinković Polyclinic
About injection therapies
At Drinković Polyclinic in Zagreb, we provide targeted injection therapies for the treatment of painful and degenerative joint conditions and soft tissues.
Injection therapy is used for osteoarthritis, inflammatory changes, synovitis, and chronic pain syndromes when conservative measures are not sufficient. The goal of the therapy is to reduce pain, improve mobility, and delay surgery when possible.
Each therapy is carried out after a specialist orthopedic examination and assessment of the indication.
When are injection therapies used?
- osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, or shoulder
- painful degenerative joint changes
- inflammatory changes of the joint lining (synovitis)
- tendinopathies and bursitis
- chronic pain after injury
Types of therapies
Depending on the clinical indication, therapy may include:
- intra-articular administration of corticosteroids
- hyaluronic therapy to improve joint lubrication
- other targeted therapeutic procedures as assessed by the specialist
The procedure is short, performed on an outpatient basis, and does not require hospitalization.
Individual approach
The decision to use injection therapy is made based on the clinical examination and imaging diagnostics (MRI, X-ray, ultrasound).
The goal is to apply the therapy at the right time and for the right patient – without unnecessary interventions.
