What is the radiation dose for a hip X-ray?
A hip X-ray is performed with a controlled and low radiation dose (about 0.3 mSv), which corresponds to natural radiation exposure during approximately two months of everyday life.

When is a hip X-ray not enough?
If there is suspicion of early changes in the structure of the bone, cartilage, a labrum injury, or unclear pain in the hip, the doctor may recommend hip MRI.

The report is interpreted by a specialist radiologist with expert explanation and assessment.
