Shoulder ultrasound (US)

Shoulder ultrasound (shoulder US) is a safe, non-invasive, and highly precise diagnostic examination used to assess the muscles, tendons, bursae, and joint structures of the shoulder. It is particularly useful in the diagnosis of painful shoulder conditions and soft tissue injuries.

What is examined with shoulder ultrasound?

What does the examination look like?

The examination is short, painless, and requires no special preparation. During the examination, the doctor may ask for certain arm movements for a dynamic assessment of the structures. The report is available immediately after the examination.
