Knee ultrasound (knee US) is a safe, non-invasive, and very precise diagnostic examination used to assess the soft-tissue structures of the knee, including tendons, ligaments, bursae, and the joint capsule. It is particularly useful in the evaluation of painful knee conditions, sports injuries, and inflammatory changes.

What does the examination look like?

The examination is short, painless, and requires no special preparation. The patient lies down or sits, and if needed, the examination is also performed during slight movements of the knee. The report is available immediately after the examination.
