Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) of the chest is a diagnostic method in which a CT device and X-rays are used to take images from different angles, producing cross-sectional images of your chest and mediastinum.

When is a chest MSCT used?
Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) of the chest is used in diagnosing abnormalities of the lungs, chest conditions such as cough, difficulty breathing, chest pain or fever, assessing chest injuries (including the heart, blood vessels, lungs, ribs, and spine), benign and malignant tumors, pneumonia, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, inflammation or other pleural conditions, interstitial and chronic lung diseases, congenital abnormalities.
