Foot ultrasound (ultrasound of the foot) is a fast, precise, and completely painless diagnostic method used to thoroughly assess the soft tissues of the foot: tendons, ligaments, fascia, muscles, bursae, and joint structures. What can be detected with a foot ultrasound

• plantar fasciitis and heel spur
• tendinopathies and tendon ruptures (Achilles tendon, foot tendons)

What the examination looks like

• the examination lasts 10–15 minutes
• there is no radiation and no contraindications
• if needed, a dynamic examination is performed (in motion)
• possibility of color Doppler assessment of blood flow
