Ultrasound and color Doppler of the carotid arteries provides detailed images and assesses blood flow through the arteries in the neck. The most common conditions diagnosed with this examination are carotid artery stenosis, atherosclerotic changes in the blood vessels, hard and soft plaques, subclavian steal syndrome, and other pathological changes in the blood vessels of the neck.
