About the act of swallowing
What is a swallowing act?
The swallowing act is a diagnostic method in which real-time video X-ray imaging is used, also called fluoroscopy. This examination is performed to assess the patient’s swallowing ability/act. It is most commonly used in the diagnosis of swallowing disorders, esophageal diverticula, food retention, esophageal cancer, and other pathological conditions.
