Antun Koprivanac, M.D.

He was born in 1981 in Zagreb. He graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 2006 with excellent results. After completing his internship and passing the state exam, in 2007 he was employed as a research assistant at the Clinic for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine of the Sestre Milosrdnice University Hospital Center on the project of Academician Zvonko Kusić. From 2008 to 2013, he specialized in internal medicine for the Clinic for Lung Diseases “Jordanovac” of KBC Zagreb. From 2014 to 2016, he completed a subspecialization in pulmonology at the Clinic for Pulmonology “Jordanovac” of KBC Zagreb, where he worked until June 2019. Since June 2019, he has been employed as a specialist in internal medicine, subspecialist in pulmonology at KB “Sveti Duh”. From July 2020 to August 2023, he headed the Department of Oncology and Interventional Pulmonology at KB “Sveti Duh”. During the mentioned period, he introduced almost all invasive methods of diagnostics and treatment of tumorous and inflammatory diseases of the lungs and pleura (bronchoscopic and transthoracic biopsies of chest tumors under MSCT guidance, chest drainage, therapeutic endoscopic methods of treating acquired diseases of the large airways – endoscopic recanalization of the trachea and main bronchi in secondary benign and malignant stenoses). During his specialization in internal medicine and subspecialization in pulmonology, he underwent training in several European centers (AKH Vienna, Central Clinic of Athens…). In the period from September 2023 to December 2024, he worked as a specialist in internal medicine and pulmonology at Aviva Polyclinic. Since January 2025, he has been employed as a department specialist in the Intensive Care Unit, Special Hospital for Lung Diseases Zagreb.

In 2016, he enrolled in the postgraduate doctoral study program “Biomedicine and Health” at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine. He is the author of about 15 professional and scientific papers published in indexed journals. He is a member of the Croatian Medical Association, the Croatian Pulmonology Society, and the European Respiratory Society.

Special interests: diagnostics and treatment of obstructive lung diseases (asthma and COPD), tumors of the lungs and pleura, chest ultrasound, bronchoscopy, transthoracic biopsy…
